Welcome to the first blog of many! I am an independent golf club and equipment tester and am fortunate to have access to some really nice new stuff.
Having just returned from the PGA merchandise show in Orlando, FL, Id like to share and discuss some of the great new gear I tried there, on demo day and at the show itself.
Let me know what jumped out at you, I may have tried it also!
First up...
Pinfire...a new putter company from California. They had 2 models at the show in a variety of colors and shaft options. The first is a mallet shape, called the Spirit. This is a cool looking putter and puts a nice roll on the ball. The black model I tried is the stealth bomber of putters! Looks great and has nice smooth feel.
But, the other model is the one that really did it for me. Its got a larger head in the 2 ball style with 2 holes in the head and all the weight around the side and back. It looked kinda cumbersome at first but boy does this baby putt!! Im not kidding, I could barely miss with this thing and I took one away from the show. This just makes putts for fun and I think its all in the weighting, it just wants to stay on line no matter how lousy a stroke you have and thats a helluva thing to have in a putter. Its also real easy to line up with all the sight lines and ball holes.
I talked with the guys at Pinfire and they have some cool stuff planned. hey also have a ton of players who love the putter. A guy called Steve Marino just got on the PGA Tour using a Pinfire whch is pretty neat. I think this is a brand that could do well and has a real shot at success in a very competitive field. I tried pretty much every putter going at the show and the Pinfire Eagle was the best putter out there.
Id not really heard of them until this year so let me know if you use one or are thinking of trying one. This is a pic of the Eagle I got. They had some in blue, silver and red also but Ill stick to the black for now!
Let me know what you think guys. You can check out more stuff about them at their website www.pinfiregolf.co.uk

Instead of using these golf putters why don't we use these Cavity back golf irons because these have much more features rather than this golf putter.
